We left at sunrise for the crossing. on exiting the lagoon, we met a few other fellow cruisers coming in. They were asking for directions, due to the inaccuracies of the map. They used our path to locate the entrance.

Even on short crossings we still stick to our watch times. Captain Jeff was on from 6 am to 9 am. I sat with him most of the time. It was a beautiful day of sailing. I took over at 9 am, and had fun with a few FADs and fishermen.

FAD Fish Attraction Device and fishing boat tied to it. They were asleep when Seahorse passed them.

I made a special lunch for the passage, a Chicken Fajita Salad bar. I got all the parts ready. I marinated the local chicken breast that Jeff had cut from a fresh chicken. I got the corn cooked from the local corn farmer. I cut up local tomatoes and lettuce. The corn chips, salsa, and cheese all were in the ships stores from Australia. Jeff cooked the chicken, he always get the right temperature.

Sami took over watch at noon, and we anchored just after 3 o’clock. Then Sami and I took a dive into work and study. We anchored in about 30 feet of clear water with a soft sandy bottom. Of course, it was a great spot, and the two other boats that followed us in soon figured this out and anchored quite near to us. We have to get used to this, and is common in the med.

I have pulled a couple of fish fillets out of the freezer for dinner. These were also part of the Australian stores. Jeff was not to keen on their age, and he made an incredible Ikan Kari with them. This a local Fish curry, that was taught to him by Felti of Kei Besar. I was the last to get my Kari, and I just got a little bit, as this is a popular dish on Seahorse. Felti taught jeff well.
