Wednesday September 13th, 2023 Day 3322
Seahorse sadly left our little spot of paradise at 6 AM. The motor started and the anchor cam up. We are always look for the little positive things that go right. The day was very short on wind, so we motored. We arrived before 11 AM. We decided to anchor north of town.
Labuan Badjo is the point for the tour operators to leave from for Komodo island. Jeff and Sami immediately left for a grocery store. They had one directive from me – FIND DIET COKE. They were not successful. They did come back with eggs and cheese, and for some reason Sami thought we were out of pop corn. Seahorse is not out of pop corn, but the teenager loves a good late night snack.
I “choose” to stay behind to put the paperwork together for shipment of the Quattro Inverters. One of the two inverters died of over exposure to heat in Banda Niera. We have been limping along ever since. Jeff finally found some in a whare house in Florida, but they did not ship overseas. Therefore, ,we had them shipped to my factory in Michigan. They left on a truck just as the Hurricane hit Florida August 31,2023. The inverters arrived September 12, 2023 at the freight dock.
So I had to get the waybill created and all the required documentation for DHL to pickup the 300 lb pallet and ship it from Detroit Michigan to Lombok Indonesia. I now have a waybill, order, invoice, customs invoice, two different types of labels. I have instruction to the factory/office team to repackage the pallet an have it ready to pickup tomorrow at 10 AM. DHL, I am told, does a great job. However, for the price of the service Jeff asked if the Inverters were flying first class and had had free drinks.
I am chilling here on Seahorse, and writing my Admiral’s plan. Meanwhile, Sami and Jeff have left to join the social gathering on the beach. The comradery of cruisers is universal.
When they get back I hope to have a nice Chicken Pad Se Ew ready for them.
